A garment cord lock, also known as a cylindrical cord lock or toggle stopper, is a small, lightweight fastener made of durable plastic, often incorporating a spring mechanism inside. It is designed to secure, adjust, or lock the free ends of drawstrings, cords, or laces without the need for tying knots. The cylindrical body houses a plunger or toggle that, when pressed, allows the cord to slide freely, and when released, the spring mechanism locks the cord firmly in place. These cord locks are widely used in clothing such as hoodies, jackets, and sweatpants to adjust hoods, waistbands, and hems, as well as in bags, backpacks, tents, sleeping bags, shoes, and other outdoor gear where quick and secure cord adjustment is needed. Being plastic, they are lightweight, corrosion-resistant, non-conductive, and inexpensive, offering convenience, durability, and ease of use, especially in applications where cords need frequent adjustment or a reliable hold without knots.
